About me

Danielle (she/her) has a degree in social work, is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers AASW. Danielle has years of experience in youth mental health and has experience in government and non-government sectors.

Danielle is passionate about providing therapy in a safe, welcoming environment and supporting you with a collaborative, strengths-based approach. Danielle provides therapy for pre-teens through to adults. Danielle enjoys supervising social workers in the community sector and social workers interested in achieving mental health accreditation.

Danielle provides focused psychological strategies and supports to people with depression, anxiety, PTSD, complex trauma, grief, neurodiversity, adjustment difficulty and bipolar. Danielle is interested in creative approaches, improving self-esteem, confidence building, assertiveness skills, goal setting and preventing burnout.

My clients

Anyone from 8 years of age through to adults for a range of mental health presentations. New parents and perinatal mental health.
Mental health issues include anxiety, depression, bipolar, mood instability, trauma, grief and loss.

Areas of treatment interest:

I assist people with assertiveness skills, confidence building, improving body acceptance and body image, improving self-care, and preventing burnout.

Therapeutic approaches

Danielle provides assessment and evidence-based therapy for a range of psychological issues. Focused psychological strategies include:

  • EMDR – eye movement desensitisation reprocessing for trauma and PTSD. Danielle has completed basic and advanced training in EMDR using Neurotek equipment.

  • DBT – Dialectical behavioural therapy

  • CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • ACT – Acceptance and commitment therapy

  • MI – Motivational interviewing

  • Interpersonal therapy

  • Relaxation skills and mindfulness

FAQs

  • You can self-refer by contacting Danielle by email or phone.

    You can ask your GP to refer you to a mental health care plan MHCP (10 sessions per calendar year) or non-directive pregnancy counselling (three sessions) referral. These Medicare referral items offer rebates.

  • Some funds, including Bupa, HCF, St Luke's, and Teacher’s Health, cover accredited mental health social workers. If you are unsure, please contact your private health fund for more information.

  • If cost is a barrier to accessing service, please contact Danielle to discuss your options. Reduced fees can be considered for those with financial stress and/or holders of a healthcare card.

  • Please contact Danielle to discuss fees.

    If you are eligible for Open Arms (previously Veterans Affairs Counselling Service VVCS), you can access sessions with Danielle as an outreach provider at no cost to you, fully funded by Open Arms.

    Open Arms provides free and confidential counselling to anyone who has served at least one day in the ADF, their partners and their families.

    NDIS-funded sessions if counselling is included in your plan.

    Clinical supervision fee: $180 if funded by an organisation or employer, $150 if self-funded.

    Please note late cancellation (within 24 hours) or non-attendance will attract a $60.00 fee.

  • Danielle is registered with the TIS National Free Interpreting Service. Please let Danielle know if you require an interpreter.

  • Usually, Danielle can offer an appointment within 2-4 weeks, including cancellation spots. Wait times vary depending on demand and referrals. Please get in touch with me to check on the current wait times. If the wait time is a concern, I will also assist in recommending other providers and services as options.

  • Danielle can work with you as a starting point to assess your history and functioning issues and to complete screening tools. Still, you will need to see a GP and be referred to a psychiatrist for a formal diagnosis and assessment for ADHD.
